In 1997 while walking the then undeveloped property that would soon become Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club Mike Bylen saw for the first time the large Pine Forest that is so prevalent to the site. Those Twenty Five acres of towering Pines planted by Jesuit Seminarians in the early 1960's where to become the main area of focus for the soon to be built Club. Using the Forest as inspiration while recognizing the similarity they engendered to the Carolina’s it was decided to utilize a Low-Country style Architecture for the Clubhouse design. One of the main features of Low-Country- Charleston to Savannah- Design is the Veranda. The Veranda is a unique design aspect in that it provides wonderful form while still maintaining function. The Veranda at Shepherd's Hollow is no different.

Wrapping around three sides of our beautiful Clubhouse the Veranda creates a welcoming feel to the arriving while providing a variety of useful activities to those who stay. Rocking chairs at the front await those who wish to relax and loose their thoughts to the view of the beautiful lake just beyond the Pines. While the back Veranda is the perfect place to enjoy an appetizer and drink while sitting in our comfortable couches and chairs.

The Veranda has become an intrical part of the experience of Shepherd's Hollow that is share by Golfers and Non-golfers alike.
